Bridges Module

Construction of the Bridges module has begun.  A progress report and pics can be viewed under Bridges in the menu.

First Public Display

The first public display was held at the Miniature & Model Railway Show which was part of the events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the National Railway Museum.  This was held on the 14th & 15th September at the museum's location in Port Adelaide. The layout was exhibited as a display by Southern N Scale Modellers.
Although the layout was displayed as a work in progress, all tracks were operational and trains were running.  Both completed and part-completed structures were on display. Structures were built by various members of the team. Many thanks to Stuart, Greg, Mark, Rodney and Peter for their work and support for the project to date.
Additional modules for Strathalbyn (namely, the Bridges module and the Mill & Silos module) are currently under construction by other members in the team.
If there is sufficient interest from other modellers, Mt Barker, Goolwa, Victor Harbor, etc modules could be made and to hence have combined running at, say, a 'Fleurieu Peninsular Railway' Meet. Goods Shed Progress

Scratchbuilding of the Goods Shed has begun.  Progress pics can be viewed under Structures in the menu.

Water Tank and Coaling Tower

The Water Tank is almost complete and the Coaling Tower is progressing well.  Progress pics may be viewed under Structures.

Card Model of Station Building

A draft card model of the station building has been made from plans and photographs. All the shapes have been cut from a single printed sheet of 300gsm satin A4 paper. The next stage will be the detailed preparation of materials for scratchbuilding.

Test Running

The test running session was held recently. In the pic below the 830 class diesel is doing its work.

Command Bus Cable Installed

The Command bus cable and interconnection surface mounted sockets have been installed. A picture may be viewed under Wiring in the menu
